Being raised in Los Angeles in the ‘50s and ‘60s gave Scott Livingston the foundation and the predisposition to play music. Some of the most exciting things in the modern day evolution of rock ‘n roll were taking place at the exact time Scott was beginning to play his guitar. That was four decades ago! Honing his chops on the popular surf sound that was sweeping the nation at the time, “Iceman” became entrenched in then LA music scene.
The “British Invasion” of the early to mid ‘60s brought with it the incorporation of vocals to the music. Scott immediately began working on his “pipes” and soon found himself sharing the stage with such groups as The Doors, The Grass Roots, The Seeds and The Strawberry Alarm Clock.
Shortly after cutting two demo recordings at the famous Capitol Towers in 1968, Scott attended college, got married and started a family, putting music on hold to assume his parental responsibilities. In 1992 ‘ol “Iceman” once again heard the call of the treble clef and the music was reborn.
With over 60 instruments in his collection ranging from classic and twelve string guitars to mandolins and even two sitars, Scott has hit the road running....running with Hot Rod Deluxe, that is.
