Born in Great Falls, Montana many years ago, Jeff Rowe was destined to follow the path of music. "Big J" started playing guitar at sixteen and had his own band and a half hour local TV show by the time he was seventeen. The show, “The Indispensables” later went on to become syndicated by ABC and ran for many years in the Phoenix and New York markets. His music paid for college while attending the University of Montana. After college it didn’t take long for “Big J” to go full time with his music which landed him ion stages in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Lost Tumbleweed….well, you get the picture.
As Jeff’s star began to rise, he shared the stage with the likes of The Grass Roots, Poco, Sly And The Family Stone, America, Cold Blood, John Denver and others. His first recording experience was with Norman Petty, Buddy Holly’s engineer/producer and in the same studio. From there it was on to the big time in Hollywood where he was rubbing elbows with the likes of Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, The Osmond Brothers, Robert Conrad and Kurt Russell. Some of his recording time was done in a studio owned by Bobby Engeman, one of the original Lettermen. Jeff’s group was fortunate to have Al Capps as their music arranger. It was Al who arranged the music of Burt Bacharach for Dion Warwick. But broken down to its lowest denominator, it’s simply experience….experience that is now residing with Hot Rod Deluxe.
